This mixer has been made (and beloved!) in Sweden since 1940. The unique design is reminiscent of a professional spiral mixer: Large, stable base (no rocking!), and wide bowl (easy to add ingredients and watch your batters and doughs come together). Strong and robust, our breads rose higher and had better texture when mixed with this appliance. Although it's excellent for breads and ideal for the bakers who plan to mix heavier doughs and yeasted breads, it's also versatile and performs all the great functions of any other standard stand mixer. Separate attachments included let you make cookie doughs, cake batters, and more. The huge capacity of this Ankarsrum mixer allows you to make multiple batches of your favorite recipes at once. Made of chrome and steel for maximum durability, the 600-watt mixer produces superior baking results. We particularly like the clever design of the arm: movable steel arm holds a roller and separate scraper in place, allowing the machine to simultaneously knead and mix doughs and batters. Ankarsrum AKM 6230 Pearl Blue Original Stand Mixer - 2003 Features: Powerful and quiet 600 watt motor features self adjusting speed control. Includes 12 minute timer and bowl speed control (adjusts from 45 to 130 rpm.) Unique engineering puts the motor in the bottom of the unit. A movable steel arm holds the roller with a separate scraper that simultaneously rolls and kneads dough and batter. Mixer may be turned on its side to accommodate a variety of attachments purchased separately.
